Membership Department

Cecile David, Director of Membership
Cecile has been with AAMFT since 2007 and has over 25 years of association and member services experience. Before AAMFT, she worked in a travel association where she created a library system for quick access to information and improved efficiency in service. She brought this same dedication to AAMFT where she was instrumental in restructuring the membership department in order to streamline work processes and improve the quality of member engagement and services. Being born and raised in the Philippines, a very diverse country with a convergence of different cultures and where core values are always centered around family and family support systems, she strongly believes in AAMFT’s mission to advance the profession and practice of marriage and family therapy as it recognizes that relationships are fundamental to the health and well-being of individuals, couples, families and communities.

Cecile is a proponent of self-evolution and growth. Outside of work, she is the choir director of a very active Filipino Ministry choir. She is also involved in different international charity groups and actively assists in fundraising events that serve local communities and benefit global outreach efforts, especially in the Philippines. In her spare time, she also dabbles in performing and creating her own perfume and jewelry.

Upon getting her MFT degree, she moved to Northern Virginia to work at AAMFT as a Membership Specialist, in July 2002. Now working as the Approved Supervisor Designation Manager, Dorothy oversees the Approved Supervisor Designation program for the association.

Besides her Law and MFT degrees, Dorothy also has a degree in Classical Music, specializing in the creations of Nobel Laureate, Rabindra Nath Tagore. Dorothy is an active member of Bangladeshi Expatriate in the DC metro area and tries her best to contribute to the community when she finds time between work and taking care of her husband and two beautiful children.

Celeste Zbikowski, Evaluative Membership Manager
Celeste received her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the Catholic University of America and provided some part-time assistance at a local social service agency.

In 1989, Celeste started working at AAMFT in membership services. She transitioned in 1999 to a position enforcing the AAMFT Code of Ethics, and then again in 2005 to a position working with AAMFT’s state/provincial divisions. In 2015, she returned to work with member services as Evaluative Membership Manager reviewing membership applications for prospective members in allied mental health fields in the United States and foreign countries.
